Ice Fishing I — painting by Alex Frishberg

Just as my father did with me, I taught my son Danny to fish as soon as he could hold a rod, at about two years old, starting on Crystal Pier in San Diego. After that Danny and I fished everywhere together, just the two of us. This large canvas is a testament to people like us — real fishermen who go anywhere at dawn to catch fish we could easily buy in a store, hunters at heart, brothers in arms.
