Two Tulips in a Vase — painting by Alex Frishberg

In 1986 I didn't know what to buy my parents for their wedding anniversary, so I painted their gift instead: a delicate vase holding two tulips, for my mother and father's lifelong commitment to each other. It hung on the wall in our house until my father passed away and my mother moved out. Now it hangs in her apartment on the ocean, as a memory of those happy times.
